balancing movement and awareness

Yoga is a process of learning to live intelligently with your body and mind. The journey begins with understanding how to breathe and using the breath as the engine to fuel movement, spark creativity, and make discoveries. The physical practices of sun salutations, postures and breath exercises work the body in different ways, sometimes pushing us beyond what we thought possible and giving us new perspectives. We challenge the body to develop strength and flexibility, to find the balance between hard and soft, tension and release, power and restorative, yin and yang. In seeking equilibrium between opposites, we begin to find a middle path, a focal point where calm and stillness reside.
